1932-1941.
These are the steps required to make er new again!!! Pictures show the core we recieved in the box from customer , need new case..
1= Tear down , clean , bead blast , inspect and paint or lube all parts.
2=Start reassembly , test adjust , lube as needed.
3=Insulate rotor shaft
4=Spray lube advance unit.
5=Lube rear bushing and install main shaft.
6=Install and align new contacts , replace all screws with stainless allen.
7=Install rotor , measure tip wear with caliper for air gap.
8=Spray lube housing and grease bushing.
9=Install timing tab at 2 degs advanced.
10=Install vacuum brake with new leather. Lube and oil.
11=Run on tester for break in.
12=Block off pass side contacts and adjust drivers side ( timing side) with dwell meter. Note =Each degree of dwell=2 degrees of engine timing...
13=Adjust pass side for correct dwell ( coil build up 36 degrees)
14=Verify proper advance , note: This is a model 68 and should have 8-8 1/2 degrees at 2000 rpm. Is on the money!!
15=Ohm test coil primary and secondary .
16=Coil output testing , bright blue and spark jumps large gap and lights neon lamp!! Good coil
17= Install side caps and verify clearance..Looks good.
To be such a nasty unit this morning , it passed all tests and is a complete working distributor!!
