WE HAVE ( AFTER BONNEVILLE AND ECTA IN OHIO) DECIDED THAT WE MUST HAVE A LOT MORE ENGINE THAN WHAT WE HAD.

THE OLD RED ENGINE WAS 265 CUBIC INCHES AND TESTED  181 HORSE POWER ON THE DYNO.

OUR NEW ENGINE ( SHARP HEADS) IS 304 CUBIC INCH AND WAS BUILT YEARS AGO BY LOCAL FLATHEAD LEGEND, I FOUND IT LAYING IN A STORAGE SHED AND WE NOW HAVE IT ON A ENGINE STAND AND HAVE EVERY PIECE TAKEN APART.

EVERYTHING WILL BE CLEANED UP , CHECKED WITH NEW CAMSHAFT , THE NEW CAM IS A CHEATAH WITH .437 LIFT TRADED FROM EAST COAST  WALTER DUPONT.

MORE AS WE GET IT DONE.

WE PLAN ON RACING IN WILMINGTON AND THE ECTA EVENT IN APRIL 29TH-MAY 1ST . ITS THE HOT ROD MAGAZINE TOP SPEED CHALLENGE.

Now its January 2016.

Need to pick up the new 304 from Greys machine . The truck is at my house sitting in the garage and Jacob

We are shooting for the first weekend of racing at Wilmington with our latest 304 ci flathead. Engine has been taken apart , new camshaft installed and freshened up.

PANDORAS BOX ???

Thats what ya get when you buy a flathead engine thats been sitting for a few years.....  Our latest is a 304 CI engine that was built many years ago by local legend .

The sizing turned out to be correct with it being 304 cubic inches. Aluminum "sharp" cylinder heads . Upon tear down, engine looks pretty good but all valves will need to be done. A quick measurement on camshaft shows almost a stock grind.

A call to our friend Walt Dupont on the east coast produced a "trade" for a cheatah camshaft.  Valves are now done by a neighbor on Gasoline Alley .

Further inspection shows some serious damage in two cylinders , more than likely caused by sitting for some time.  Just made a call to local flathead shop to check on boring two cylinders and sleeving them back to our 304 ci size to allow us to reuse the pistons.  I plan on getting the engine to the shop next week ( Feb 24th etc 2016)  Pictures will follow later .

Speed meet in Ohio is  April 29-May1st... Got to get moving i guess...
